All the Taxidermies presented have the morphology and the exact proportions of their species, the characteristics and the typical positions of these birds, and all were finished with the right colours on legs, beaks, ears, as seen in nature.
Most of the birds stand in a quiet position, on pedestals reminiscent of their habitat. With sand and shells for seabirds, fine sand for birds from dry areas, rocks for birds of prey, earth and green plants for forest birds. The branches in which the birds stand are themselves a natural piece of art with crooked, bizarre, fantastic shapes. The pedestals create the impression of seeing the birds "live" in front of us!
The bird exhibition is interesting for a wide audience. Children, teenagers and families can appreciate the richness and beauty of birdlife in one place. Birdwatchers and ornithologists also find rare species and can observe them in every detail. Hunters and nature lovers will find here the local fauna, which they should know and recognize while practicing their activity or their hobbies. Every bird has a label with its name in German, English and Italian, as well as the scientific name and a map with the region of the world in which the bird live.
Vannis Bird World lets us guess the variety of features within the bird world: like the ostrich and the cassowary, which are big as a person, or hummingbirds and nectarines, which are small as the thumb. There are birds with many colours, such as tanagers, pheasants, parrots. Other birds such as the Eurasian Nightjar, certain larks or partridges have appropriately patterned and designed plumage to camouflage themselves.
There are river, forest, mountain, desert and sea birds. Here you can see the variety of shapes and anatomy: the long legs of cranes and herons, the webs of ducks and geese, the birds of prey claws. The large, curved beaks of toucans to cut and eat fruit. Broad and small beaks of weaver birds to break seeds; pointed and curved beaks of nectar birds to suck nectar flower. The sharp and robust beaks of woodpeckers to treat tree trunks. The small and thin beaks of sparrows and other insectivorous birds.
In Vanni's Bird World you will see extraordinary feather variations. You will find combinations of colours, shapes, layouts, sizes and unimaginable feather designs, which during centuries have inspired artistic creations in painting, Architecture, decoration and fashion. The elegant Peacock's tail. The majesty of the nuptial parade of the Capercaillie. The unexpected colour and pattern combinations of small birds such as the Painted bunting, the European goldfinch, Red-cheeked Cordonbleu or the Crimson Sunbird. Also, the funny head of the Red-crested Finch, the Vulturine Guineafowl, the Red-fan Parrot, the Hoopoe. The incredible variety of plumage is confirmed by the 26 Ruffians present in the exhibition, each with a different crown feather than the other! Differences between the plumage of males and females are shown with some pairs of birds, such as the King Eider, the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock, the Capercaillie, the Partridge or the Crested Partridge.
There are special bird mutations such as for the House Sparrow, the Blackbird and some thrushes Albinos, which originate from nature. But also crossbreed like about Bullfinch and Goldfinch, of Red crossbill and Bullfinch or Gyrfalcon and Lanner falcon.
Shortly, if you are interested in birds and nature, you must have seen Vanni’s Birld World!
